Steamed Milk Sponge Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add milk, vanilla, and melted butter and mix well.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the batter.
  5. Pour batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Place the dish in a steamer or water bath.
  7. Steam or bake for 35–40 minutes until set.
  8. Let cool slightly, then cut into blocks and serve.
