
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter or oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil or butter for frying (if making fried version)
- Powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar for topping
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine
- Gradually mix wet ingredients into dry until smooth. The batter should be slightly thick but pourable.
- CookOption 1 β Fried (classic βchubbsβ style)
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil. Fry until golden brown, turning once.
- Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.
- Preheat oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Pour batter into a greased muffin tin or small cake molds.
- Bake 15β20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly and sprinkle with sugar.
