
🧾 Ingredients
For the sausage gravy:
- 450 g breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2½ cups milk
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)
For the biscuits:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)
- 3/4 cup milk (or buttermilk)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the biscuits
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add milk and mix just until dough forms.
- Roll out, cut into rounds, and place on baking tray.
- Bake 12–15 minutes until golden.
2. Make the sausage gravy
- Cook sausage in a pan over medium heat until browned (don’t drain all the fat).
- Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir for 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly add milk while stirring constantly.
- Simmer until thick and creamy (5–7 minutes).
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
3. Serve
- Split warm biscuits in half.
- Spoon the hot sausage gravy generously over the top.
