Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp thyme
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Cook the beef
- Heat oil in a large skillet or pot.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Drain excess grease if needed.
- Sauté vegetables
- Add onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic.
- Cook 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Season
- Stir in paprika, Cajun seasoning, thyme, salt, black pepper, and cayenne.
- Add rice
- Pour in uncooked rice and stir for 1 minute.
- Simmer
- Add beef broth.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer 18–20 minutes until rice is tender.
- Finish
- Fluff rice with a fork.
- Top with green onions.
