🍰 Swiss Roll (Soft & Spongy)

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp milk

Filling:

  • Jam, whipped cream, or chocolate spread

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a rectangular tray with parchment paper.
  2. Beat eggs and sugar for 5–7 minutes until pale, thick, and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla and milk, mix gently.
  4. Sift in flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold carefully (don’t deflate batter).
  5. Spread batter evenly in the tray.
  6. Bake 10–12 minutes (don’t overbake).
  7. While warm, place on a towel dusted with sugar and roll it gently (with paper).
  8. Let it cool rolled—this helps shape it.
  9. Unroll, spread filling, then roll again tightly.
  10. Chill before slicing.

  • Roll while warm → prevents cracking
  • Use parchment paper for easy removal
