🧾 Ingredients

For the sausage gravy:

  • 450 g breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2½ cups milk
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder (optional)

For the biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)
  • 3/4 cup milk (or buttermilk)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Add milk and mix just until dough forms.
  5. Roll out, cut into rounds, and place on baking tray.
  6. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden.

2. Make the sausage gravy

  1. Cook sausage in a pan over medium heat until browned (don’t drain all the fat).
  2. Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Slowly add milk while stirring constantly.
  4. Simmer until thick and creamy (5–7 minutes).
  5. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

3. Serve

  • Split warm biscuits in half.
  • Spoon the hot sausage gravy generously over the top.
