📝 Ingredients

  • 200 g cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3 eggs (separated)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F)
  • Line an 8-inch (20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper

2. Cream the base

  • Beat cream cheese until smooth
  • Add egg yolks and sugar → mix until creamy
  • Mix in yogurt, milk, melted butter, and vanilla

3. Add dry ingredients

  • Sift in flour, cornstarch, and salt
  • Mix until smooth (batter will be thin)

4. Whip egg whites

  • In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form
  • Gently fold into batter (don’t overmix)

5. Bake the magic

  • Pour batter into pan
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in center

6. Cool & chill

  • Let cool completely
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing

During baking, the batter separates into three layers:

  1. Light sponge top
  2. Creamy custard middle
  3. Slightly dense base
