Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. - Prepare the dough
- In a bowl, cream together butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Mix in vanilla extract and sweetened condensed milk.
- Gradually add flour, salt, and chopped nuts (if using). Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Shape the cookies
Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Place on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart. - Bake
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft. - Coat with sugar
While warm, roll the cookies in powdered sugar. Let cool completely, then roll again for a snowy finish.
