Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup butter (softened) or oil
For topping:
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add egg, butter, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually add flour and knead until you get a soft, smooth dough (8–10 minutes).
- Cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled in size.
- Divide into equal balls (burger size) and place on a tray.
- Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes.
- Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.
- Bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes until golden.
Tips for perfect buns:
- Dough should be soft, not dry
- Don’t skip the second rise → makes them fluffy
- For extra softness, brush with butter right after baking
