🍓 Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls

For the Dough

  • 2¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ½ cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 2¾ cups all-purpose flour

For the Strawberry Filling

  • 1 cup finely chopped strawberries
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

For the Cream Cheese Glaze

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough
    • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tsp sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
    • In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, salt, egg, and yeast mixture. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the filling
    Mix chopped strawberries, sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter in a bowl.
  3. Roll and fill
    • Roll dough into a rectangle (~12×18 inches).
    • Spread strawberry filling evenly over the dough.
  4. Shape the rolls
    Roll up the dough tightly from the long side. Cut into 12 even slices. Place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Second rise
    Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
  7. Prepare glaze
    Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over warm rolls.
