1. Bake the cake:
- Preheat oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).
- Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, eggs, food coloring, vanilla, and vinegar.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until smooth.
- Pour into a greased pan and bake 30β35 minutes.
- Let cool completely.
2. Make the strawberry glaze:
- In a saucepan, combine blended strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Cook on medium heat until it starts to simmer.
- Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thick and glossy.
- Let it cool.
3. Optional cream layer:
- Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Fold in whipped cream.
4. Assemble:
- Spread cream layer (if using) over the cake.
- Pour strawberry glaze on top and let it drip beautifully.
