🍰 Yellow Butter Cake (Soft & Buttery)

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter (softened)
  • 4 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease and line your cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy (very important step).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  5. Mix in vanilla.
  6. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk (start and end with dry ingredients).
  7. Mix until smooth—don’t overmix.
  8. Pour into pan and bake for 35–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Tips for perfect texture:

  • Use room temperature ingredients
  • Cream butter + sugar well for a fluffy crumb
  • Don’t overbake → keeps it moist
