🥧 Classic Egg Custard Pie

📝 Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg (plus extra for topping)
  • 2 1/2 cups warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Place the unbaked pie crust in a pie dish and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs lightly.
  4. Add sugar, salt, nutmeg, and vanilla extract—mix well.
  5. Slowly pour in the warm milk while stirring continuously.
  6. Pour the custard mixture into the pie crust.
  7. Sprinkle a little extra nutmeg on top.
  8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the center is just set (a knife inserted should come out clean).
  9. Let it cool completely before slicing.

💡 Tips:

  • Don’t overbake—custard should still have a slight jiggle.
  • You can swap nutmeg for cinnamon if you prefer a different flavor.
  • Best served chilled or at room temperature.
