🍰 Reese’s Peanut Butter Earthquake Cake

🛒 Ingredients

Cake base:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus eggs, oil, water as directed)

Add-ins:

  • 1 cup chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup peanut butter chips (optional)

Cream cheese swirl:

  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • Set to 175°C (350°F) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare cake batter
    • Mix the chocolate cake batter according to package directions.
    • Pour into the prepared pan.
  3. Add the goodies
    • Sprinkle chopped Reese’s, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips evenly over the batter.
  4. Make the swirl
    • Beat cream cheese, melted butter, vanilla, powdered sugar, and peanut butter until smooth.
  5. Assemble
    • Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter.
    • Lightly swirl with a knife (don’t overmix).
  6. Bake
    • Bake for 40–45 minutes.
    • The center should still be slightly gooey—that’s the “earthquake” effect!
  7. Cool & serve
    • Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm for maximum gooeyness 😍

💡 Tips

  • Add crushed peanuts for extra crunch
  • Drizzle melted peanut butter or chocolate on top after baking
  • Best served slightly warm with vanilla ice cream 🍨
