🧾 Ingredients:

  • 3 Β½ cups (440g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 ΒΌ tsp (1 packet) instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (240ml) warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1 tbsp oil

For topping:

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

1. Activate & Mix

  • In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add egg, butter, oil, and salt. Mix well.

2. Knead Dough

  • Gradually add flour and knead until smooth and elastic (8–10 minutes).
  • Dough should be soft but not sticky.

3. First Rise

  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.

4. Shape Buns

  • Divide into 6–8 equal pieces.
  • Roll into smooth balls and flatten slightly.
  • Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

5. Second Rise

  • Cover and let rise again for 30–45 minutes.

6. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F).
  • Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
