Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C.
  2. Mix peaches with ½ cup sugar and lemon juice; set aside.
  3. In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, and ¾ cup sugar.
  4. Stir in milk to make a smooth batter.
  5. Pour melted butter into a baking dish.
  6. Add batter over the butter (do not stir).
  7. Spoon peaches and juice over the batter.
  8. Bake 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
