Philly Cheesesteak Puff Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef steak
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1½ cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F / 190°C.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook steak until browned.
  3. Add onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms; cook until soft. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Roll out puff pastry on a baking sheet.
  5. Place the steak mixture in the center and top with cheese.
  6. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  8. Bake 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
