
Ingredients
- 1 box white or vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (3 oz) box strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- ½ cup crushed golden sandwich cookies or shortbread cookies (optional topping)
Instructions
- Bake the cake
Prepare and bake the cake in a 9×13-inch pan according to the package instructions. Let it cool for about 10 minutes. - Poke the cake
Use the handle of a wooden spoon or a fork to poke holes all over the cake. - Prepare the gelatin
In a bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, then stir in 1 cup cold water. - Pour over cake
Slowly pour the gelatin mixture over the cake, allowing it to fill the holes. - Add condensed milk
Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake. - Chill
Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours so the flavors soak in. - Top the cake
Spread whipped topping over the cake and sprinkle with sliced strawberries and crushed cookies.

For extra flavor, add strawberry glaze or strawberry sauce on top before serving. This cake is even better after chilling overnight!
