Easter Blossom Cookies

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Pastel sanding sugar (pink, yellow, blue, green)
  • 24–30 Hershey’s Kisses or chocolate eggs, unwrapped

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar
    Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla
    Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine dry ingredients
    In another bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Make dough
    Gradually mix dry ingredients into the butter mixture until dough forms.
  6. Shape cookies
    Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Coat in sugar
    Roll each ball in pastel sanding sugar for a colorful Easter look.
  8. Bake
    Place on baking sheet and bake 8–10 minutes.
  9. Add chocolate
    Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss or chocolate egg into the center of each cookie.
  10. Cool
    Let cookies cool on the tray so the chocolate sets.
