🌭 Sausage with Peppers and Onions

📝 Ingredients:

  • 4–6 Italian sausages (mild or spicy)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion (sliced)
  • 2–3 bell peppers (any colors, sliced) 🌶️
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Brown the sausages
    Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet.
    Cook sausages on medium heat until browned on all sides (about 8–10 minutes).
    Remove and set aside.
  2. Cook veggies
    In the same pan, add remaining oil.
    Add onions and peppers. Cook 5–7 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized.
  3. Add garlic & seasoning
    Stir in garlic, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and chili flakes. Cook 1 minute.
  4. Make it saucy (optional)
    Add crushed tomatoes and stir well.
  5. Combine & simmer
    Return sausages to the pan.
    Cover and simmer on low heat for 15–20 minutes until fully cooked.

  • In a toasted hoagie roll 🥖
  • Over pasta 🍝
  • With rice 🍚
  • Or with roasted potatoes 🥔
