Glazed Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Cinnamon Swirl

  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, egg, oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  4. Pour half the batter into the pan.
  5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle half on top.
  6. Add remaining batter and the rest of the cinnamon mixture; swirl with a knife.
  7. Bake 45–50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled bread.
