- 4 medium potatoes (peeled & sliced or diced)
- 1 large onion (sliced)
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil (or butter for more flavor)
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prep the Potatoes:
- Slice thin (for crispier texture) or dice (for soft inside + crispy outside).
- Optional: Soak in cold water 10–15 min, then dry well (removes starch → crispier potatoes).
2. Cook the Potatoes:
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add potatoes in a single layer.
- Cook without stirring for 4–5 minutes to get a golden crust.
- Flip and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for about 10–15 minutes.
3. Add Onions:
- Add sliced onions once potatoes are almost tender.
- Cook together 5–7 minutes until onions are soft and slightly caramelized.
4. Season:
- Add salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Stir well and cook 2 more minutes.
