For the Sausage Gravy:
- 400–500g ground breakfast sausage
- 3 tbsp butter (if needed)
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2–3 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp black pepper (or more)
- Salt (to taste)
For the Biscuits:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter (cubed)
- 3/4 cup milk or buttermilk
👨🍳 Instructions:
1. Make the Biscuits:
- Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Add milk and mix gently into dough.
- Roll out, cut into rounds, and place on baking tray.
- Bake 12–15 minutes until golden.
2. Make the Sausage Gravy:
- Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
- Leave the grease in the pan (adds flavor).
- Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir for 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly add milk, stirring constantly.
- Cook until thick and creamy.
- Season with black pepper and salt.
